PRAY Private Equity embodies the Catholic call to stewardship and the dignity of work by serving the "Silver Tsunami" retirees—those faithful stewards of businesses built through years of labor and sacrifice. Guided by the Church’s teaching that economic activity should serve the common good (as emphasized in Rerum Novarum and Centesimus Annus), PRAY PE recognizes these retirees’ ethical duty to ensure their businesses thrive beyond their tenure, not merely as profit-driven enterprises, but as communities that honor the God-given dignity of their employees.Rooted in the principle of solidarity, PRAY PE seeks to protect these businesses from being sold to private equity firms that might prioritize wealth over people, stripping jobs from local regions and disregarding the human person’s right to meaningful work (Laborem Exercens). Instead, PRAY PE champions an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), empowering workers by giving them a stake in the enterprise they’ve helped build—a concrete expression of subsidiarity, where decisions uplift those closest to the work itself. This approach not only secures the retirees’ legacy but also ensures employees are cared for in their own retirement, reflecting the Catholic vision of justice and charity toward the vulnerable (Caritas in Veritate). In this mission, PRAY PE mirrors Christ’s command to love one’s neighbor, safeguarding both the retirees’ peace of mind and the employees’ future, so that business becomes a vessel for grace rather than greed.
